Primary Structural Framing

The primary interior framing of a building is comprised of he main load-carrying members of the structural system. The primary frame includes sidewall columns, rafter beams, intermediate columns (on multi-span), splice plates and bolted connections.

Rigid clear-span frame with tapered columns and gable roof (3:12)

The clear span design allows unobstructed usable floor space. The bulk of the steel is designed into the column rafter connection. This makes possible large spans of up to 300 ft. wide.
Typical uses: Gymnasiums, industrial or commercial warehouses, conditions that require overhead bridge cranes, agricultural, recreational, churches, and housing. *NOTE* this is the most common, cost effective clear span design. Can litereally be used for almost any type of building.

Rigid clear-span frame with straight columns and gable roof (1:12)

Uniform depth columns of this clear-span framing system makes interior finishing much easier. Ideal for storing materials uniformly or for warehouse rack systems.
Typical uses: Offices, free standing retail or commercial units, strip malls and design is ideal for houses.

Rigid clear-span single slope lean-to (2:12)

Economical clear-span with single exterior column (straight or tapered). Used for economical expansions on any existing steel type building, will depend on existing engineering.
Typical uses: Warehousing, commercial, industrial, retail, churches, ad housing.

Rigid clear-span frame w/ tapered columns and single slope roof (2:12)

The clean span single slope design can cover great distances while draining water to one side of the building. Also used for exansion to existing buildings not designed to handle additional weight of expansion building. (Freestanding).
Typical uses: Retail centers, strip malls, convenience stores, fire stations, expansion buildings, anywhere that water drainage is a concern.

Rigid clear-span frame with straight columns and single slope (1:12)

Ideal design for retail or commercial buildings where water drainage is a major concern. Also for adding to existing building scenario that requires independent, freestanding approach. Building is suited for facade to front of building for improved aesthetics.
Typical uses: Expansion buildings or free standing retail and strip malls where clear-span is necessary and use of interior storage or ease of build-out is a major factor. Also necessary when existing building is not designed for additional weight of a new building.
