Building Codes and Drawings (concluded from Thursday)

Posted on Friday 26 January 2007

An engineered stamped drawing is required by a lot of building inspectors. Design calculations and engineer stamped drawings can be obtained from a majority of reputable building manufacturers and/or suppliers. Expect to hand over an engineering deposit in order to receive the full standard erection drawings. This is generally the practice of most organizations. Highly advanced computer software should help provide the foundation data and anchor bolt plans. The drawings provided by the building manufacturers are important indeed! They show diagrams of every connection that will be used as well as a cross-sectional diagram of every part of your new building. It is your responsibility and no one else’s to get all the required paperwork taken care of. Remember that the only stupid questions are the ones you don’t ask. Therefore, be very thorough and keep an on-going dialogue with all parties involved.  Haste makes waste. Take the time you need and do everything right. The bottom line is this: The money and time that you save is your own. Therefore, contact General Steel today. Call us at 1-800-745-2685
