Growth in the State of California

Posted on Tuesday 19 December 2006

The United States Census Bureau projects that the state of California will see an increase in over 12.5 million residents by the year 2030 (which is a 37% increase in the base population compared to the year 2004). With over 35 million people residing in California already (as of 2003) this will bring the population to near 50 million in just 25 years. The growing population brings with it a growing need for industry. General Steel is there to meet that rise in population and growing commerce. Yet, one should not have a prejudiced, preconceived picture in mind of what a steel building might look like. Gone are the old days when steel buildings were nothing more than ugly metal boxes that cluttered the landscape. The pre-engineered steel buildings that General Steel provides—and the remarkable designs we bring to California—are steel buildings with state-of-the-art exterior options such as glass, brick or rock facades. Exterior wall systems and building trim are available in any number of eye-catching colors. Meeting the zoning ordinances of a particular community are no problem. Any General Steel building will make a welcome addition to any community in California.
